My name is Leszek Ścioch and I have been working as a translator since 2000.

I started out at the anti-fascist magazine Never Again and enjoyed the process of translating so much that I decided to pursue it professionally. So, back in 2003, I enrolled to study English at the University of Warsaw, and I completed my Master’s thesis in 2009. Since then, I have undertaken a wide variety of translation projects requiring a proverbial ‘way with words’, including articles for Świat Nauki (the Polish edition of Scientific American) and other journals, texts for children (poems, songs), as well as books (I have translated four novels for ISA Publishing House). Eventually, I found my way to Supreme Translation Agency, where, under the guidance of experienced Sworn Translators, I honed my skills in certified translations. After a few years, I was ready to strike out on my own, so in 2013 I passed the state examination to become a Sworn Translator and set up my own business, which I still run today.

I am a big fan of learning, not just in my industry, which is why I graduated from Sociology at the University of Warsaw in 2021 and then completed a course in Foreign Policy at the Polish Institute of International Affairs in 2023.
